Luke 14 May 21st

So It was Jeremy's birthday on the day of practice and he didn't tell us because he didn't want to get birthday beats from everyone..
Let's just give him a beating this sunday.

You guys, I tried reading the chapter... But.. I don't wan to go through the whole sob story and stuff, but I just went through something really hard. It's, complicated...
And idk if I'll be at church tmrw.

anywho! this is my devo:
7 When Jesus noticed that all who had come to the dinner were trying to sit in the seats of honor near the head of the table, he gave them this advice: 8 “When you are invited to a wedding feast, don’t sit in the seat of honor. What if someone who is more distinguished than you has also been invited? 9 The host will come and say, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then you will be embarrassed, and you will have to take whatever seat is left at the foot of the table!
10 “Instead, take the lowest place at the foot of the table. Then when your host sees you, he will come and say, ‘Friend, we have a better place for you!’ Then you will be honored in front of all the other guests. 11 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
i like how Jesus uses a rational explanation for this and how humility will bring you a win-win situation, and how it puts people in their rightful places. This shows me that theres an actual reason behind all of these things that God tells us we should do. Because in the end, everything will be where its supposed to be, and God is only trying to help us! out of love <3

Hey guys, Im having a horrible day and I cant get this chapter thru my head, Ill post later

I read chapter verse 27 and it states
And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
This i really striaght forward, basically, WE cant physically carry teh cross for Christ, but if we are willing to, we are able to be his disciple.
But obviously that isnt the only characteristic needed to be a disciple. There are many more but they are unknown.

The verse bfore 27
Was weird because it was if you do not hate your mother father etc, you cant my disciple.
