Re: Psalm 90 July 4th!
Hi!
8 "You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence."
This particular verse caught my attention.
A lot of times we think God didn't see us commit a sin and we think we are safe from his punishment or consequence.
But that is completely false.
God did in fact see us, and we are always being watched by him.
Thats all.

Re: Psalm 90 July 4th!
You spread out our sins before you—
our secret sins—and you see them all. (Psalm 90:8 NLT)
Like Sarah talked about, we always sin and expect that the only consequences are the ones we are given on this earth.
Completely untrue.
God knows everything about us including our secret sins - the things we try to keep from everyone. It's not something we're accustomed to remembering but it's true and so maybe we should start thinking twice about what consequences are to come, not short term ones but the long term.
Peaceout homies

Re: Psalm 90 July 4th!
o-o...notice the change of devotion in our devotions...just saying it's a problem that we had to have 2 emails of warning sent to us..
anyways...
1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place
throughout all generations.
This verse speaks for itself. The fact that God's been here forever for generations upon generations, compared to us, who's been here for a time that doesn't even add up to a hundredth of how long he's had to stand for our junk; our sins, our lack of faith, and our constant failures. God isn't a person. We have to realize that. God is THE God that has been everything and more, yet nothing and less. We have to realize that even though he gives a million chances, the moment we take that for granted, he knows. He knows, and he doesn't even need to write it down.
For more than 2000 years, he remembers every good and bad events that have occured in pretty much everywhere.

Re: Psalm 90 July 4th!
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Alright I am gonna make an attempt to doing devos in the morning or first thing when i wake up
However sometimes, that might not happen as im very lightheaded in the morning or have work.
But hear out this verse! Satisfy us in the morning, so we be happy throughout the rest of the day
That's how I understood this verse. Now logically, if we did our devos in the morning, we could apply what we read
TO THE REST OF THAT SAID DAY.
Makes more sense, rather than doing it at the end of the day
OF course I have to work on that, and I plan to.
It might be a tiny bit more difficult, but makes more sense to do it in such a way
Just a small suggestion
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

Re: Psalm 90 July 4th!
I dont know about you guys.. but, I really need a retreat.
like I dont care, praise retreat or not, I need time away and I just need time for God.
Its not that I'm losing faith, its that I'm feeling overwhelmed with everything, just my daily life.
I need time off EVERYTHING and give it all to God.
Just a break from my regular life.
17: May the favour of the Lord our God rest upon us;
establish the work of our hands for us--
yes, establish the work of our hands.
Although having God's presence by me is soothing, I can't expect Him to make the decisions for me.
He awaits for all of us in open arms, may He LEAD us, into worship.
May He show, direct, guide us in our everyday lives.
For the Lord will never forsake us.

Re: Psalm 90 July 4th!
I think the jist of this chapter is that we must be afraid of God because i think i heard it from somewhere but God will come when the end is near... so God will arrive and show compassion for those who served him. And let the sinners suffer.
13 Relent, Lord! How long will it be?
Have compassion on your servants.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
We have no idea how long it will be before God is brough upon us.. but it key to stay strong in faith so that you will be saved when the end comes.
Also, we should spread his word because our works because He is watching whatever we do. just like in the last 2 verses.
He will establish the work of our hands.
If we spread his word, it is helping God in a way.

Re: Psalm 90 July 4th!
The part that said a thousand years seem like a passing dat to god stuck out to me. It makes me realize how small everything is to god, yet he still cares for every single detail in everyone's lives. This is mind blowing and I keep it in mind to make me realize that for god to even give me his attention is an extreme privledge and I shouldn't take it for granted ever. I should make full use of it and grow fruits from it!
Night all!

Re: Psalm 90 July 4th!
The verse that was the most powerful to me was verse 4:
"for you, a thousand years are as a passing day, as breif as a few night hours."
There's so many people that God takes care of. In one hour (in God's time), he would have answered millions of prayers!
I can't imagine how many people are right now asking God for help and him answering them all back and he still gives that same amount of love and time to us. There are plenty of people who are suffering and are not as spoiled as us. Yet we complain about the littlest things that are unecessary. Give thanks to the Lord for all he has done for us.
