self devo oct 21 ?

haha okay so i kept checking, and theres nothing on here, so im just going to post up my self devo here...

i read 1 John 3

1Think how much the Father loves us. He loves us so much that he lets us be called his children, as we truly are. But since the people of this world did not know who Christ [a] is, they don't know who we are. 2My dear friends, we are already God's children, though what we will be hasn't yet been seen. But we do know that when Christ returns, we will be like him, because we will see him as he truly is. 3This hope makes us keep ourselves holy, just as Christ [b] is holy.

i loved these first few verses.
we are children of God
that IS our identity in Christ .
last year i did a lot of soul searching. i went through SOOOOO much spiritually, and i learned a lot about God. I went through so many struggles, and a lot of changes occured. In the midst of all that, i still felt like something was missing. Like i knew God was with me, i believed in Him, and all th at stuff... but i felt like i was missing something important.... the thing was, through all that change, and through all the growth spiritually... i didnt know who i was. my identity being : christian... being asian , popular girl, sports jock.. whatver that kind of stuff wasnt enough. God gave me the answer SOOOOOOOOOO directly through a sermon i was listening to at Vision x this past march. Our identity is... Child of God. It says right here, that we always were, and always will be children of God. We are waiting for Christ to return and WE WILL BE LIKE HIM. woaaahhh hahaha

i liked that verse! I usually get a lot of john chapters so that's why i decided to do this one. I learned from this verse because it's all about life making decisions. Decisions that determine you as a good or bad person. And it says to do what is good. I want all of us to make the right decisions and the decisions that help us stay and grow on our christian walk with God.

yeeeee basketball!

This is not really a devo, but something i would like to share.
Especially us grade 12s. somethign to think about.
Most of us only have about 3 retreat left, that we may ever lead a congregation to worship. We for sure have less than 50 weeks.
Cutting out special stuff on the way, like Christmas and stuff, we have about 40 - 45 days or leading on Sunday.
That is NOT ALOT.
Let's use our time effectively, lets make these retreats the best one ever, lets make every sunday the best worship praise ever. WHY?
Not because we have these many days left, but the fact that God called us to be on the praise team, so lets carry out his WILL.
Does that make sense? it's kind of like a countdown, God called us to do this for now, so wouldn't we want to do it to our fullest?

Neways, Today, i read philippians chapter 4...
My Eyes are like killing me cuz I on the comp HAHA
so I'm gonna make it short... This chapter is like very interesting.
It tells you very important things that we already know about
but again, Very interesting... This chapte tells us about
how powerful god is... Altho we can't explain it in words
of how powerful it is, but the in Verse 13 it says
"I can do everything through him who gives me strength."
that verse rele stood out to me... It says that we can
do anything through god!!! He can make anything happen
and also, this chapter also tells us that we can pray about
ANYTHING!!! But that doesn't mean we can pray and ask for
stupid things like, "Let the Bf and Gf rule be gone in the Praise team"
Altho that would be sick but that rule is there for a
Rele good reason and it's understandable but when u have
trouble with anything, ask god for help and he will do something
about it as long as u have STRONG FAITH IN HIM!!!

thought about it...

i always stress on this concept of 52 worship sessions.
WE ONLY GET 52!!! (give or take + retreats)
That means you waste 10 thats 20% a year. For us graduating lets not waste 10. Not 5 not 1.
God chose us to do what we are doing now. To lead worship. To LEAD OTHERS TO GOD. Then the holy spirit takes over. We are an outlet for the holy spirit to take everyone to God, through Jesus.
