Re: Psalm 87 June 29th
2 He loves the city of Jerusalem
more than any other city in Israel.
6 When the Lord registers the nations, he will say,
“They have all become citizens of Jerusalem.”
First, we're told that God loves the city of Jerusalem more than any other but at the end of the chapter, we're told that one day, we will all be a part of Jerusalem. We are all going to be loved equally.
I suppose Jerusalem represents heaven.
Comforting verses.
Night.

Re: Psalm 87 June 29th
7 As they make music they will sing,
“All my fountains are in you.”
My interpretation of this passage MAY be different from the rest of yours but bear with me haha
As we worship, we'll sing, everything we need is in you
A fountain can be interpreted in MANY different ways but when I pictured fountain,
I pictured an abundance of water. When I think water, I think a necessity.
When I think necessity, I think God. When I think fountain,
God is all we need and he gives us so much of whatever it is that we need.
It however isn't always clear, maybe when we're spiritually up there, it might be, as the passage said
As they make music, they will sing.
Might be confusing.. hopefully it's not. haha

Re: Psalm 87 June 29th
haven't thought this hard in a long while...
and i have no clue what to get from this chapter.
cept that I can relate that last part to how "Should we drink the water that HE gives us, we will never thirst."
It's summer, guys. We've all gotten thirsty. Imagine a drink, that should we drink it, we feel like we can always drink when we want, and yet still breathe and do other bodily function. You can't imagine something so physically impossible, because we can't have anybody testify to it. That's what God is like. Only Jesus can testify to how things felt for him, and should he testify, we'd all live in pain, from the details of his life's narrative.
God is something and someone and somewhere, on a totally different level we can't explain. It's true our basic ideals and virtues were based off of him, but that was just a small part God wanted to let out to us humans. He had to stoop down to give us this much, and we can't even understand all of it.
We never really get how perfect God is, but the more we wonder, the more we realize. So yeah. Wonder, guys. Ask questions. :/ That's what Dan and Dan, and all the pastors are here for; to teach us.

Re: Psalm 87 June 29th
This week hasn't been too great for me from what you can see..
I've been lacking devotions and truthfully I don't really have the mind set to do them right now but I'm sure with a little prayer I'd be fine.. Hope you guys can!
Need a little time, hope to be back on track by sunday

Re: Psalm 87 June 29th
My devotion today isn't gunna be about the passage!
I went to this spoken word event thing at my friends church today and this pastor came up to speak. And it's like god sent him there to speak to me.
He said that if we wanted to help others, we have to accept out pain and our imperfections and get healing ourselves from the doctor, the doctor who is god. We have to stop pretending that everything is okay on the outside and stop pretending that were perfect on the outside because when god looks at us, god sees us for how it is. And that's all that counts. By letting out imperfections and problems pour out into gods hands, our lives get a lot less complicated, and we're trusting in god for us to heal in him. We have to let go of what others think about us, and let go of the sinful desires that pull us back, in order to be in gods presence.
This pastors sermon today really got to me and I think it's what I needed to step it up in my relationship with god. It helped me realize that god truly sees the real me and I have to be comfortable with the real me too.cbecaue the real me is flawed, sinful, and dirty in gods eyes, but i am beautiful in his eyes as well. I'm his creation and I should just be me for who I am and let my flaws and mistakes be healed by god so that I may go out and do the same thing. After some of my experiences this year, I truly feel uncomfortable going into missions without this healing within myself because I am in no position to help others when I can't even help myself
Sorry this deco was kind of me rambling to myself but I had to get it out! I saw god work through the pastor I heard today and was touched :')
I'll see you guys next week! Bye)
I AM TOO EXCITD TO GO TO THE STATES LIKE ONGOMGOMGOMG KAY BYE :$
