Psalm 56 May 16th

Alright sorry for slacking guys
Let's all consistently start doing devos again!

10 In God, whose word I praise,
in the Lord, whose word I praise—
11 in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can man do to me?
12 I am under vows to you, my God;
I will present my thank offerings to you.
13 For you have delivered me from death
and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life.

this pretty much sums up the whole chapter i think. since our God is all mighty and all powerful, why don't we rely on him more? we always rely on more materialistic things in our life to solve our problems. and we bring God up to our daily lives not even half of the time..the main thing worth mentioning here is God should be told about your daily life, and brought in to your daily life.

4 I praise God for what he has promised.
I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
What can mere mortals do to me?

This to me always reminds me that no matter how bad it seems here in our life, it could be worse.
What can men on this life do to us, that our savior can't save us from?
In this life or the next, God has our backs

9: Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help.
By this I will know that God is for me.

It feels as if the more I walk down the right path with Jesus, the more I'm being attacked by temptation from the Devil.
As the devil on my shoulder tempts me, I remind him and myself that with God's grace, I'm already eternally saved.
Personally, I don't even need to call for help, just bring up his name and I know he's trembling in fear.

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

k so what i got from this chapter was that in our everyday lives there are temptations that we shouldnt be tempted to do. But humans arent perfect so we do the wrong thing.
"Be mercifulunto me, O God; for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me."
this verse stood out to me saying that God will always be by our side no matter what is happenning and he is always sheilding us from those bad temptations. He is helping us fight those temptations and help us overcome sin.

I don't have much from this chapter....
I think that this chapter mostly talked about how we should not be afraid by our enemies since God is by our side. It goes on about how we should be confident knowing that our enemies are nothing compared to God's power.
