Some things about this chapter don't seem to settle with me, no matter how many times I read it... Maybe it's just me today! S:

I'm not entirely sure, but it seems that Abram feels he's more important than his wife, which is why she had to be his 'friend' as opposed to his 'wife', so he wouldn't be killed... and then God ends up inflicting diseases on Pharaoh because of Sarai... I'm not understanding this very well, to be honest.

It comes to my understanding that Egypt had enough food for the two to evade the famine, so maybe Abram had to do it because of a lack of choice - both needed to survive; that's my only rational conclusion I can think of.

What I do find interesting is that God walked hard with Abram and Sarai - protecting both of them from what happens... and I think this can certainly apply to all of us who truly believe - Abram was a powerful servant, leaving his home off for a place he didn't fully know about and was uncertain about... but with God's guiding, he DID continue to spark the generations to come! Nice read... I hope all of us can certainly walk with God in such a powerful way, and I'm sure it will happen, with time!

God bless guys, see you tomorrow!

Sorry i havent been doing devos..
i dunno why but it hasnt been coming to mind lately.. -_- sorry ill try harder.

Genesis 12

Right off the bat in the beginning of the chapter the main mesage is revealed.

"Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land i will show you."
2 I will make you into a great nation
and i will bless you
I will mak your name great
and you will be a blessing
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you i will curse
and all people on earth
will be blessed through you.

We are basically in Abrams position. If not, already overcame it.
God asked us to leave everything behind and go to him. Some of us i know have found God already but we havent LITERALLY given up all our belongings. i think what that means is when it comes to a choice between God and anything else in the world. IT SHOULD BE GOD. I think thats what i means by leaving your belongings.
Which some of us did. This caused us to build a greater nation just like how we are trying to do with our congregation.
He will lift up our name to his kingdom and make us be a blessing in his eyes
also He will protect us of everything we do because he loves us and we have FAITH in him.
AND we will spread His word by lettting God use us for his Glory!
this is very important!
i know some of us or all have accepted Jesus Christ! Thats why we try to do these things for Gods acknowledgement!
