Re: Psalm 81
Sorry for missing out, there's really no excuse..
10: I am the LORD your God,
who brought you up out of Egypt.
Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.
11: "But my people would not listen to me;
Israel would not submit to me."
This is really relevant to our callings, we may listen, but when we don't, it'll always find a way to revert back to us.
God has everything set, it's only a matter of time.
BUT.
We have choice.
Our God always give us a choice, there's always a way out.
That's His kind of love, and I am so appreciative of it.

Re: Psalm 81
1 Sing for joy to God our strength;
shout aloud to the God of Jacob!
2 Begin the music, strike the timbrel,
play the melodious harp and lyre.
-----------------------------------------
dats how we do. :3
I guess what I want to say is that, relating back to the past sermons, there was one sermon where Dan Joo was talking about how we have our respective roles as people and in the body of Christ. To be able to respect yourself, others, and everybody's role comes into everybody's best interest, and as praise team members, our role is to not only praise God, but to lead the congregation in doing so.
I've noticed back when I wasn't THAT involved in praise team, that this usually only shows in the retreats and stuff. Seeing as in a long time, we haven't had a retreat, and from then, that we didn't really have that spirit in the congregation, it makes me wonder, "What could we do?". Just a thought to have whenever we go to praise. We're always on our phones, texting to other places while we're in the church. I'm not gonna snitch out names, but this is kind of a problem, that we can't really get the younger half of the congregation to praise feel how we feel.
Just sayin. The thought occured.

Re: Psalm 81
For it was I, the LORD your God,
who rescued you from the land of Egypt.
Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it with good things. (Psalm 81:10 NLT)
So, it might be strange to point out but if you think about it, you wouldn't open your mouth just because someone told you to, unless you trusted them, right? That and the fact that it could be filled with "bad things".
This verse shows how we really have to completely trust God and allow him to work in our lives!
Sorry for not posting. Exam week has been killllller. Goodluck to anyone who still has a few left.

Re: Psalm 81
8 “Hear, O my people, and I will warn you—
if you would but listen to me, O Israel!
God speaks to us, sometimes we do hear
God warns us, but its up to us to listen and take heed to that warning
It's always been up to us to make our choices, and it's up to us to ask God to help us
We can't do anything on our own better than we ever could with God
Good night, anthro exam tomorrow

Re: Psalm 81
This chapter reminded me of how much god wants to help us but we don't allow him to. All we have to do is ask, and god will give us the best of the best, but we are stubborn and live in our own way which is naive!!
After reading this I felt kind of a comfort because I know god is always there and is always wiling to help his child. So I just have to put my trust in him, and though it may be tough, things will turn out just fine in the end. Especially the very end'
Prom tomorrow!!! Eeeeeek!! Ahaha night

Re: Psalm 81
I think we can all relate to this chapter because the first few verses are basically us.
We sing for the joy of God and we shout to his name with out praises! Basically for those who worship him, WORSHIP him but for those who dont, God wants them too and if they did, they would be protecting by God.
So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts
to follow their own devices.
For those who deny the chance to follow God, they will be set alone and will not have God. What is the purpose of life without the presence of God there to protect us and guide us.
ALWAYS PRAISE GOD for he is listening!
