August 05th - Worship Part 2
Noooooooo Dan
At least he'll be around, for me during September at least, hah.
I loved today's sermon, I thought it was basically a wake-up call and realize what my priorities are.
Either worship Him or His creations. Know what to acknowledge, know what to be thankful for.
Sometimes we get plugged in and we're worshipping other things unintentionally.
God spoke to me through Dan today.
Matthew 4:10 says 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'

Re: August 05th - Worship Part 2
We should only idolize our God and worship his creations..
Nothing should ever chnage the fact that God is our only idol and worshipping him, is worshipping all of him and all he created!
God is basically a path to our worship.

Re: August 05th - Worship Part 2
This week's sermon was about how we may worship other things before God. The thing you spend most of your time enjoy doing is your primary worship.
Dan said that if we focus on the first two commandments we would be able to follow the rest of em.
-One God
-One idol
we should only worship God. he is the only God and should be our main idol.
Thigns may come between God but hopefully we are able to continue our path towards God

Re: August 05th - Worship Part 2
It was interesting how Dan pointed out that the moment we give quality of worth to something, that becomes woirship.
ALREADY then have we disobeyed one of the greatest commandments. It's so easy to break the rules isn't it. Whether it's sexually sin, pornography, money, these are things that can fall into the category of us WORSHIPPING it. Sounds wrong considering god is the only one who deserves our worship...
Let's have our priorities straigt!

Re: August 05th - Worship Part 2
I don't really want to repeat what you all said, but the things I remember as the most crucial points in Dan's message are:
1. Do you worship the creator or the created things?
2. Why do we worship?
I've even got them written down because I know these questions are the ones I'll have to keep asking myself on a daily basis.
Why do we worship God? Is it so we can look high and mighty? To put ourselves above others? Or for the sake of thanking God for everything he's done?
This sermon hit me pretty hard because right now, we're in the days of technology. It rules our daily lives.
Even moreso than God should. We've been put through so much advertising and none of which is about God. Everywhere we look, we're told to worship something else...
Let's try to block those ads and all the things we hear about the latest and greatest, out!
