all i understand is that these sons are going through alot of pain and suffering right now, and that they believe that their prayers aren't being heard.o-o

Heeeelllloooo~!!
18 "You have taken my companions and loved ones from me; the darkness is my closest friend."
The chapter for today was kinda depressing to be honest...
I didnt get anything really important.
But verse 18 reminded me of how I feel when something bad happens to me.
That is all.

While reading this chapter i got a really depressful and sufferable feeling.
Something that stood out to me was Verse9
"Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: LORD, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee."

From reading this with the mood i understood that this verse about someone calling God for help in a time of suffering and despair. I remember hearing this somewhere that during times of despair is the time when you are closest to God .

Back from a long day at wonderland!
anyone got info on the leadership/praise team retreat? Very Happy

13: But I cry to you for help, O LORD; in the morning my prayer comes before you.

I've started to pray in the morning RIGHT when I wake up. Its so refreshing.
God makes us turn to Him, by giving and taking away.
All the things I have been given, I allow myself to give it gladly to Him.

From this passage basically what I think it's trying to say is that God is watching our lives and guiding it no matter what occurs.

3 I am overwhelmed with troubles
and my life draws near to death.
4 I am counted among those who go down to the pit;

We remember all the hardships and struggles we experience and we tend to blame God. What we dont know is that, eerything has its own purpose and we should acknowledge Gods work under any circumstances.

13 But I cry to you for help, Lord;
in the morning my prayer comes before you.

Then after, we cry for God only when we need help. Why cant we call out to him everyday, every second? We should always look for God no matter what the situation is.
God is our guide and whatever he puts us through is purposeful.

you guys shoulda done worship canada with me... im so alonee

13 But I cry to you for help, Lord;
in the morning my prayer comes before you.

14 Why, Lord, do you reject me
and hide your face from me?

These verses touch on a topic or theme that recurs a lot in our walk with God and it's the feeling that God left us It was even in Dan's sermon yesterday about how we may become distanced with God due to various reasons, but the main thing that I always took away from these verses and even personal experiences is that God never left us, it's that we leave God. If we only go to times we need him, it's no longer a friendship, but then it becomes a master/servant kind of thing. Even though God will support us, we need to always be aware and grateful that he is there for us.

So, I think we can all relate to this chapter and how it sums up how we're always searching for a way to get to god. Obviously, it's a difficult journey to make and at times, we feel 'overwhelmed' and we want to give it up for something that will bring us faster rewards but why trade up the best reward for a few dozen mediocre ones?
We have to stay strong and fight a good, hard battle to overcome our obstacles and get out of 'the darkest pit'. cheers HUZZAH

11 Is your love declared in the grave,
your faithfulness in Destruction?

We can know God in this world, we can truly understand his love in this world
This passage kinda gets you thinking, Do we know Jesus only after this life?
To me, It'd seem like such a waste. That during this test, this life, that we don't make our fullest efforts
to understand Christ.
Why should it have to be when we can WALK with God
Wouldn't it be so much more meaningful to love him when we actaully need to have faith.

This chapter is quite negative!
But I think we've all felt that way.....when we start to doubt God and go a seperate path and get lost in the darkness. We cry for help but we feel like we're too distant for anyone to hear. All these hardships we face are for us to learn and grow in our faith. God tests us in our faith and we should be prepared for what God puts before us.

That's all I've got!
