for thsi chapter i didnt get much of a message :S
it just shows us how God has fulfilled his promises to Jacob as he allowed him to have many children and great wealth!
it teaches us a small important lesson that God never breaks his promises no matter how long it takes to fulfill them, and that we should put that faith in him!
that is all see yall tmr!

Hey guys! I'm back... my internet went down... a problem with rogers or something... anyways, it's back up now so... fandiddlytastic!

So today's passage didn't mean much spiritually, but again it shows Jacob somewhat 'cheating' his way out of things. Technically he was being sneaky with the sheep ordeal and he pretty much stole the better sheep, but still God blesses him. Again it is shown, that he was never the 'model' Christian, but God chose him to do his bidding. Like I mentioned in a previous devo, Jacob is our reflections as sinners and how God puts purpose in our lives even though we sin.

other than that, i found the contrast between how people thought of children back then and now huge! When whoever was being given children, up to their 5th and 6th children, they are amazed by God and say they are blessed... It was just weird reading that as a person in today's generation... having 5, 6 children with a man who has more than one wife is far from blessed and honourable, but... I just found the culture gap between then and now so large... haha. Good night!
