7 My life is an example to many,
because you have been my strength and protection.

As a praise team, a lot of people look up to us. It's hard.
We have to be good examples, even more than a lot of others.
Sometimes, even more than our teachers/small group leaders.
But we have to remember that God is the reason we are leaders.
We are here doing what we are, for God.
Because he is our strength and our protection, which we should never forget.

3: Be my rock of refuge,
to which I can always go;
give the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.

Anyone remember, 'Every Move I Make?'
"Every step I take, I take in you, you are my WAY, Jesus."
While broken-hearted, God's heart reaches out to us and provides a fortress for us.
Our fortress is a haven, where we come while we're sorrow and leave with Christ in us.
God plans everything. Our God is a jealous God.
He'll do anything for us to turn to Him, whatever it takes.
Let his word be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.

AND GUYS, MEMORIZE PSALM 119, VERSE 11! Razz

Feeling a little weak in my faith guys. I'd ask if you could pray for me. :/

Welll anyhow, this was what I got from the chapter.
1 In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
(sounds so corny and reminiscent(if i used that word in the right context))
ANYWAYS. The first verse starts off by saying that we decided to go with the Lord. We shouldn't ever be ashamed of this choice. It's kinda like our Golden Ticket. The first step in our faith was choosing HIM. Our parents might have forced us to go to church, but never to believe in God. It was kinda something like they could state something and we had to determine by ourselves whether that something was real or not. Well, that something was God.

I can tell that usually, with all these different religions and cultures, it's common sense to not go to other people and have a conversation of something that they completely ignore in their lives. But with that fact in mind, I and alot of other people tend to forget that it doesn't mean that we have to NOT talk about it when asked. God should be someone who we're proud to believe in and we should see him as a loving father more than as a deity(form of heavenly authority i think.). If someone said "Hey, your dad is so cool!" I would get all proud and stuff, and I know it sounds corny and 5yo-ish, but that's kinda how I see our relationship with God. He's someone that you say proudly;"He's my Saviour! He's my God! etc"

I ended up just letting out all I could think of that could've been one sentence o-o. wow.
anyway. Be proud of God. Represent him, and while you do so, don't let him down. You know, wear your church shirts and stuff. and don't just say you wore it cuz it was free.

If someone asks "Why do you ______," or things like "Why do you keep wearing that brown retreat church shirt (yeah, I still wear it cuz it's the only one I have)", just go like "I love Jesus o-o. Why not?"

My 2 cents. gotta go plop on the bed now.

"O Lord, you alone are my hope. I've trusted you, O Lord, from childhood. Yes you have been with me from birth; from my mother's womb you have cared for me. No wonder I am always praising you!"
This verse stood out to me the most. I felt that this verse was talking about why we're so precious to God. We've grown with God and he knows us well better than we do.

K! Good night!

    though I am not skilled with words.[a]
16 I will praise your mighty deeds, O Sovereign Lord.
This verse stuck out to me because Ive always had problems with articulating my feelings through speech. So I think this Verse applies to all of us because it's basically saying that you don't need the gift of being a great speaker or writer in order to praise god to the fullest. Do it in a way that you think you can do your best at. This is the reason why god gave us gifts. To use it in ways to glorify god and praise not only with words but with our lives :$
Aside from that I'm honestly getting kind of annoyed of reading about his enemies plotting against him in every chapter! Owells!
And sorry I didn't post yesterday! I came home late from our athletic banquet!

9 Do not cast me away when I am old;
do not forsake me when my strength is gone.
10 For my enemies speak against me;
those who wait to kill me conspire together.

Those 2 verses stuck out to me because it saying how one is begging for God to stay with him/ her even though that they're old.
When we age, God will always be with us. He will not leave us because its not like our faith grows old and fades away as well... our faith should always be stable.
Our enemies... which is basically our sins that keep us from being the image of God, will keep fighting against us, so we need God in our lives. To be faithful is the key to keeping God in your life. Sins only build up. more and more and your faith must grow more and more in order to match up!
God will always be there for you, as long as you're faithful in him.

20 Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter,
you will restore my life again;
from the depths of the earth
you will again bring me up.

So reassuring! Don't you think so
To know that we have a God who always has his eye on us is comforting
God FORCES hardships in our lives and to be honest, I like that. It just opens up our minds
and gives us the strength that we need.
