it did not feel like i had an extra hour of sleep... what so ever this morning HAHA

7What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."

this verse had a cool point that really stood out to me.
sin. theres specific things God pointed out as "sin" but really, we wouldnt know if it was sin or not unless we were told .
like it says here, we wouldnt know that coveting was really a sin. we only knew because in the bible it says "do not covet"
i think thats why non christians find it so hard to understand.... they dont know that theyre doing things that are wrong, full of sin right ?
they dont know that theyre doing things that are evil in the eyes of God. Thats why we're here to let them know. obviusly we're not going to be like "stop that, or else youre going to hell" but we need to show them through OUR actions and words that this is right, thats bad. its like a toddler learning not to steal and learning to share. We need to help them out of their sinful habits step by step not forcing anything on them so that they run farther away from living like CHrist. Also we can only go to such an extent seeing how we're still sinful too. We would be hypocrites saying "dont steal its a commandment" when youre going around shop lifting. I think that our images as christians is so important, but at the same time you dont want to be fake about it.

so i was talking to a worship leader from BASIC and appernetly they have workshop kinds of stuff for different youth praise/worship teams. interested ? i think it could be a cool opportunity for us to grow as a team Smile

i had a good dayyy : )
the weather was actually really nice, NO RAINNNNNN!!! HAHAHA
so i need to work on my ISU thats worth like 30% of my final grade.... disgusting. LOLLL
seeeee yaaaaaaaa

Hey guys!! I have lots of work to do plus hope u guys are
all having a good day!!

7What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."

Jst like grace, this verse rele caught my eyes... There is law specifiying what not to and stuff.
and I remember isaac was doing a devo with us on friday saying that following the law isnt sinning
actually, we should follow the law. Not following the law is a sin but also, sometimes, not breaking the
law can be a sin but also very risky... I kno that in some countries, carrying a bible is agaisnt the law and
if you do carry a bible or got caught worshiping god, you will be killed... It seems like u have no choice
but that doesnt mean u can believe in god... Plus laws liek murder and stuff like that is of course
is a law that u should follow... And in the end it says "Do not covet." I searched the word covet
in the dictionary and it means to do wrongful desires... Because of the law, we do have the basic
ideas on what sin is and if you kno what ur doing is a sin, do not be tempted to do wat your doing but
stop... There are situations when we sin without even knowing. Even tho we do not kno if we are sinning,
its up to us to figure out wat we're doing...

25 Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God's law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.

In our minds we really want to please God and do everything for God but because of our sinful nature. In a way, that's true. We relaly want to please God and make him happy and devote our lives to him but sometimes, temptation falls down on us and we just sin against God. But that's because we're human. And to free us from all that is Jesus Christ. He's in our lives because he loves us and he wants to save us.

I wanna try hard to make my mind set towards God, and also have my actions set towards him. To try hard to not fall to temptation and devote my self to God.

"19For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. 20Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. "

'there are lots of dos in this song! that's because God can DO.. SO MANY THINGS!"
haha just reminded me of that.

anyways paul talks a lot about how we are slaves to sin. He even admits, "but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin". I think that this really shows paul's humility.. because he really is quite a strong christian, and one of the most influential people in spreading christianity.. but even HE admits that he's unspiritual and a slave to sin.. But going back to the verse from before, Paul explains how a lot of the times we WANT to do something, but thats not what we end up doing.. and the other way around, a lot of the times we DONT want to do something, but thats what we do.. funny, eh? how our intentions can stray so far from our actions. this is a great example of how we are all slaves to sin...
"But I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members"
Paul even goes as far as to say that he is a PRISONER of the law of sin, and that his sinful nature WAGES war against the law of his mind.. at the end he states the point of this whole chapter simply by saying ;
"Who will rescue me from this body of death? 25Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!"

sweet. the message that i got from all of this is pretty much that we can't do it alone - no matter how much we try, we're going to be at war against sin, we're going end up doing things that we dont want to or plan to do, because we are all sinners. but it is ONLY THROUGH GOD. that we can win this battle against sin and free ourselves from the oppression of sin.. it takes the humility that paul showed in admitting that we can't do it alone, and putting all our faith in God Smile

have a great evening guys! i think im getting a coldsore.. gross. i think ill just pump my body up with vitamin c

i hate workkk

"The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin."
I LOVE this line. Its so humbling as humans to know you are a slave to sin. It really is the first step to admit a fault.

the "slave to sin" part of this chapter reminds me of the book "future grace"
where i mentioned that sinning is directly saying to God "i am not satisfied with you"....
deep stuff

Creed is back!

List of albums allan has to buy soon

Fortress - Protest the Hero
Full Circle- Creed

Romans 7

verse 14-25

Paul's struggle with sin sounds exactly like ours. He knows what ihe is talking about. We all struggle everday of our lives.

I want to do what is right, but I can't. I want to do good, but I don't

This is the power sin has over us. We know what is wrong and sinful but we still do it. We know that it is wrong towards God, but we still do it. Untill we die we will struggle. We are a slave to sin for we are human. We will fall time to time, but God is good, he will use what is bad and turn it into somwthing good fo his kingdom.

k that is all

I got what all you guys wrote down, but one verse perked my interest,

So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.

You can't have one thing and not the other. As long as there is good in thw world, there will also be evil, in the same way
although we have Jesus we will still sin, because we are human. BUT it does not mean we are slaves to sin, but instead slaves to God's grace!
Freedom is a very powerful word. We Christians are captured and servants of God, wchich is why we are Free. God is our Freedom.
That's why we sing In your freedom i will live. Usually we say freedom is the way I LIVE IT. but I want to make it clear and say
Freedom is how God wants us to live life. He gave us life first, our freedom is to give it back!

In your freedom

YO!

1) Allan, just download it...are you actually going to spend $20 each on those albums?

2) Isaac, I really liked that verse too. I went and checked it out...Look at the NIV version: "We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." I think he's trying to let us know that being a sinner isn't just about "following the laws"...so when you disobey God, don't be like, "Shoot, I just broke a rule..."; instead, you should be upset that you lost your own battle. I think it's a good reminder!

3) Kevin, just take it easy eh

Miss you guys!
